Jim Jones, Scouter Extraordinaire

We lost a great scouter last year. Jim Jones passed away January 6, 2022. Jim was a very active scouter all his life and was awarded the coveted SILVER BEAVER recognition award by the Great Salt Lake Council in 2015. The Silver Beaver is the highest award for leadership achievement on the council level.

Other members of the ward who have received this honor are Richard (Stick) Hill and Glenn Goodrich.

(Glenn shared that he was Stick's Explorer Scout leader and Stick was the scout leader for three of Glenn's boys. Glenn commented that Stick received the first Eagle Scout award after the 9th Ward was formed and that he was instrumental in Glenn's boys obtaining the rank of Eagle.)
