Self Reliance, 1966 Style

Self Reliance and being prepared was just as important to members of The Church in 1966 as it is today. On March 6, 1966 the Bountiful 9th ward bishop presented the ward members with a challenge to test the Church food storage program, and see if they were able to last two weeks without having to go to the store. Many families in the ward participated in this proposal. 

With the various shortages that we have had in grocery stores over the last few years, it is a great comfort to see that the Church has always taught us to be prepared.
