Chapel Construction in the News
The Salt Lake Tribune and the Davis County Clipper ran articles about the exciting new design of the Bountiful 9th/18th Ward chapel in 1959 and 1960.
Calling the building an "unusual modernistic chapel," the Davis County Clipper reported, "The unique building is constructed so that the chapel, recreation hall, lounge, junior Sunday school rooms, Relief Society room, Aaronic Priesthood room, kitchen, lavatories, all classrooms, and Bishops' officers are on one level with no steps." It continued, "Seventeen hundred people can be seated to see the speaker by opening the lounge and recreation hall." Finally, "One of the main features will be a seven rank 10,700 pipe organ which will be completed in February."
